As the new school year approaches, it’s time once again to consider the preparations necessary for students to return to their academic routines. The rising cost of living, coupled with financial obligations and various social pressures, significantly affects families’ ability to cover all school-related expenses. Despite parents’ best efforts, these challenges create considerable disparities among students.
In fact, beyond school enrollment, having all necessary supplies on time and stress-free is crucial for a student’s success in school and life.
However, the development of Africa and it’s nation, along with the enhancement of human capital in our communities, greatly relies on how well we equip and prepare these students for success.
That’s why the NGO “Helping Hand Community” has partnered with local and international companies to support parents and students in Lagos, Nigeria and Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. ”They will hold the 3rd Edition of their Back-to-School Giveaway program on Saturday, September 7th, 2024, at Freedom Park in Lagos, Nigeria.
Activities for the Upcoming Back-to-School Edition:
◦ School Supply Distribution: Stations will be set up for children to collect their supplies in an orderly and enjoyable manner.
◦ Educational Games and Activities: Fun educational games like spelling bees, math challenges, and reading circles will be organized.
◦ Arts and Crafts: Kids will have the opportunity to create bookmarks, decorate notebooks, and make other school-related crafts.
◦ Health and Wellness Stations: Booths will offer free health check-ups, dental hygiene tips, and nutritional advice.
◦ Entertainment: A small stage will host performances such as puppet shows, magic shows, and storytelling sessions.
◦ Workshops for Parents: Sessions on effective parenting strategies, nutrition, and helping children with homework will be available.
◦ Photo Booth: A fun photo booth with props and a backdrop will be set up to capture memorable moments.
◦ Raffle and Prizes: A raffle with educational prizes like books, educational toys, and additional school supplies will be organized…
