Spurs must decide between the more developed Leverkusen defender or the quick and versatile Wolfsburg prospect

Tottenham’s failure to convince Brentford to lower their asking price for David Raya skewed their summer plans a little. The Bees were demanding £40m for the Spain international, this despite Raya entering the final year of his contract and Mark Flekken arriving from Freiburg.
Spurs instead brought in Guglielmo Vicario from Empoli, and while the Italian is a fine capture, his signing also presented a problem. Raya was born in Barcelona but actually fits the criteria for a homegrown player having moved to Blackburn aged 17 years.
