Olympic 800m champion Keely Hodgkinson has lifted the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award for 2024. ‘I am actually a bit in shock,’ she admitted, as cries of ‘Keely! Keely!’ rang out across the audience. ‘This year has been absolutely incredible for me. I’ve achieved everything I have set out to do.’ Her coaches, Trevor Painter and former Team GB mainstay Jenny Meadows, took the coaching award at Tuesday’s ceremony.
