The Barcelona manager Hansi Flick said he was ‘not happy about the situation’ preventing him from picking the midfielder Dani Olmo and forward Pau Víctor. Olmo was removed from the Barcelona squad after the 31 December deadline passed without Barcelona meeting the league’s salary limit rules. Neither Olmo nor Víctor are permitted to play for Barcelona for the rest of the season and must wait until summer, provided Barcelona satisfy the rules, to be registered again.
