Paddles and medals: canoe slalom world championships – photo essay

More than 300 of the world’s top canoeists and kayakers from five continents headed to Lee Valley, on the northern outskirts of London, for the 43rd ICF canoe slalom world championship

The championship returns to London for the first time since 2015 and what some of 2023’s competitors saw at Lee Valley White Water Centre in the 2012 London Olympics was the inspiration for them to pick up a paddle for the first time.
