Officials say most victims in ‘severe or extremely severe condition’ as ethnic Armenians flee breakaway territory
More than 200 people have been injured in a powerful explosion in the Nagorno-Karabakh region as ethnic Armenians streamed out of the breakaway territory after the Azerbaijani military reclaimed full control of it in a lighting offensive last week.
Most of the victims were in “severe or extremely severe” condition after the blast at a fuel storage facility near the regional capital of Stepanakert on Monday evening, Nagorno-Karabakh human rights ombudsman Gegham Stepanyan said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
