Frankie Dettori started his final day on British turf at Ascot with a winner when getting Trawlerman home in the opening race on Champions Day.
The irrepressible Italian jockey had looked beaten when his horse was headed in the home straight in the Long Distance Cup by Ryan Moore on hot favourite Kyprios but the rider galvanised his mount for a final surge.
