Rugby World Cup winners South Africa received a raucous reception on their return to Johannesburg. Captain Siya Kolisi ran into the arrivals hall and lifted the Webb Ellis Cup for the cheering crowd at OR Tambo International airport. The Springboks claimed a record fourth win in the tournament thanks to a dramatic 12-11 win over New Zealand in the final. One fan said: ‘We are the world champions, this is what we needed to uplift our spirit. You can see there’s a lot of things that are happening in our country but at this point in time we are one.’
