England’s Ben Stokes simply said on Friday that his side “have been crap” when asked for the reasons why the defending champions have struggled so much at the Cricket World Cup in India. England sit bottom of the table and have lost five of their six group contests so far. “The problem is that we have been crap,” he said. “We have been nowhere near good enough to be able to compete in a World Cup, which has been incredibly disappointing, because we know we are so, so much better than what we have shown out here.”
