Sheffield United secured their first Premier League victory of the season at the 11th attempt – with the final kick of their game against Wolves. Oliver Norwood’s stoppage-time penalty clinched a long-awaited victory for the Blades, after Wolves substitute Fábio Silva had fouled George Baldock in the box.
It looked as if Sheffield United were to be cruelly denied, as Jean-Ricner Bellegarde’s 89th-minute goal for Wolves punctured a bustling Bramall Lane atmosphere to make it 1-1. But there was to be even later drama as the game ticked towards its 100th minute. Norwood smashed home via the woodwork from 12 yards to clinch a precious three points.
