Murphy hits first-round maximum in seven minutes, 35 seconds‘I can’t believe what’s just happened,’ says 2005 Crucible winner
Shaun Murphy hit an extraordinary 147 maximum break in seven minutes and 35 seconds at the Snooker Shoot Out, the first in the quickfire tournament’s history.
The former world champion blasted past Hungarian teenager Bulcsu Revesz with a perfect display to move on to the second round in Swansea. Each match is played over one 10-minute frame, with a shot clock in play. The 16-year-old Revesz broke off, and did not get to play another shot as Murphy quickly set about clearing the table.
