Ross Smith was stung by a wasp on stage at the PDC world darts championship after avoiding second-round pain against Niels Zonneveld.
Smith, the No 16 seed, eased to a 3-1 victory over his Dutch opponent, landing seven 180s and the second 170 checkout of the tournament. A wasp that had been bothering the players during the game then reappeared in Smith’s post-match interview.
