Alastair Cook has retired from cricket following a glittering domestic and international career. With over 12,000 runs, Cook is England’s highest run-scorer and is the fifth highest in Test match history. He also has the most Test centuries for England with 33. Cook stepped back from the England squad in 2018 but continued to play for his county club Essex, helping them to win the County Championship and the Bob Willis trophy. At the age of 38 he has brought an end to his playing career.
