The standing ovation for 98-year-old Yaroslav Hunka came after Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelenskiy addressed Canada’s parliament
The speaker of Canada’s House of Commons has apologised for praising an individual at a parliamentary meeting who fought for a Nazi military unit during the second world war.
Just after Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskiy delivered an address to the Canadian parliament on Friday, lawmakers gave 98-year-old Yaroslav Hunka a standing ovation when speaker Anthony Rota drew attention to him.
