Erik ten Hag praised his Manchester United team for their belief after they staged a stunning second half comeback to beat Aston Villa 3-2, with the manager adding that he is looking forward to working with the club’s new 25% shareholder, Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Rasmus Højlund’s strike on 82 minutes – his long-awaited first Premier League goal – proved the winner. It came in front of the watching Sir Dave Brailsford, who will take a place on United’s board and report to Ratcliffe, whose stake in United was finally confirmed on Christmas Eve.
