Everton’s owner, Farhad Moshiri, made his first visit here in two years as the club paid its respects to the late Bill Kenwright. Moshiri’s rare appearance, and possibly his last should 777 Partners receive approval for their proposed takeover, coincided with another demonstration of Everton’s improvement under Sean Dyche as they eased past Burnley into the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.
It is now five wins in seven matches in all competitions for Everton, who comfortably beat their manager’s former club courtesy of goals from the former Burnley defender James Tarkowski, Amadou Onana and Ashley Young.
