Kelvin Kiptum set a new world record as he ran the Chicago marathon in 2hr 0min 34sec. The 23-year-old was behind the world record pace on the halfway mark, 25km mark and the 30km mark but picked up the pace at the end to make history. He is self-coached and has only run two marathons previously.
