Derek Reynolds received CPR but later pronounced deadLeague One game was abandoned with eight minutes to go
A man has died after being taken unwell towards the end of Leyton Orient’s and Lincoln’s abandoned League One match at Brisbane Road, the London Ambulance Service has confirmed.
A fan ran on the pitch towards the referee, Stephen Martin, to draw attention to the fact that a member of the public, named on Wednesday by Orient as 74-year-old lifelong fan Derek Reynolds, needed medical attention in the East Stand. The match, which was in its 83rd minute, continued for less than a minute before about 20 supporters sat down on the pitch at the home end to alert the referee to the continuing medical emergency, with play soon halted.
