Luis Díaz was reunited with his father, who was kidnapped in northern Colombia by a unit of a guerrilla group in late October and released last week.
The Liverpool forward and his daughter, who recently turned two, hugged Luis Manuel Díaz Jiménez in front of Colombian Football Federation cameras.
Armed men on motorcycles had kidnapped Díaz’s parents from a gas station in the small town of Barrancas on 28 October. His mother, Cilenis Marulanda, was rescued within hours by police who set up roadblocks around the town of 40,000 people, which is near Colombia’s border with Venezuela
