Swiss rider airlifted to hospital after fall in road race‘Extremely concerned by the situation,’ say UCI
The Swiss rider Muriel Furrer sustained a serious head injury after she fell heavily during the women’s junior road race at the para-cycling world championships in Zurich, cycling’s governing body said on Thursday.
The UCI said the 18-year-old was airlifted to hospital immediately by an emergency helicopter but the reason behind her fall has not yet been determined.
