Senior public servants have said they raised concerns about a Labor campaign manager being employed in what was supposed to be a strictly apolitical role in the New South Wales transport minister’s office.
The minister, Jo Haylen, insisted these concerns were not relayed to her, as she faced intense questioning about Kieren Ash’s employment in her office by a parliamentary committee on Tuesday.
