The defence minister, Richard Marles, has dismissed Coalition concerns the Indigenous voice could focus on defence policy and seek to have a say on military bases or acquisitions.
He accused the Coalition of seeking to play politics with the referendum by raising questions about the voice and whether it would turn its attention to defence issues.
