Sean Day, a photographer based in New Zealand, captured a time-lapse of the aurora australis over New Zealand’s South Island on Tuesday night. The southern lights were also seen over southern parts of Australia, including in parts of Victoria and Tasmania. The spectacle came after Australia’s Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) forecast good viewing conditions between Monday and Wednesday
