Vilda sacked by Spain amid Luis Rubiales falloutMorocco women made their World Cup debut this year
Jorge Vilda, Spain Women’s World Cup-winning coach who was sacked from his post amid the fallout from Luis Rubiales kissing Jenni Hermoso during the trophy ceremony in Australia, has been appointed as the new manager of Morocco’s women’s team.
Vilda was a controversial figure, with a number of Spain players refusing to be part of the World Cup squad under his management, and he was criticised for applauding Rubiales when the then Spanish federation president tried to defend himself, before eventually resigning.
