South Africa sending shadow side to New Zealand for TestsWaugh: ‘If I was New Zealand I wouldn’t even play the series’
Former Australia captain Steve Waugh has lambasted South Africa’s decision to send a shadow side to New Zealand for a Test tour while their top players take part in a domestic T20 tournament, saying it proves the longest format of the game is under serious threat.
Waugh, in an Instagram post, said the decision by Cricket South Africa (CSA) to pick seven uncapped players including skipper Neil Brand, was a “defining moment in the death of Test cricket”.
