Sussan Ley and David Littleproud have begun talks about a possible reconciliation within the Coalition, as Nationals MPs who opposed this week’s breakup push efforts to try to repair the breach.
Ley has approached former leaders Barnaby Joyce and Michael McCormack as well as frontbencher Darren Chester as she seeks to bring the two parties back together, and held direct talks with the Nationals leader on Thursday.
