‘The ultimate contest’: the untold story and rich history of the Women’s Ashes – video

Ahead of Saturday’s Women’s T20 international between England and Australia at Lord’s, Stephen Fry sat down and spoke with former England internationals Anya Shrubsole, Clare Connor and Enid Bakewell for their own unique perspectives on the history of the women’s Ashes. The women’s Ashes Trophy was created at Lord’s in 1998, 64 years after the first Test match between the two countries. The MCC president Fry said: “The Women’s Ashes has such a rich history stretching back nearly 90 years, but I think this summer’s series could be one of the most memorable yet.”
