Tottenham’s James Maddison has withdrawn from the England squad because of injury. The 26-year-old was taken off during the first half of Spurs’ 4-1 Premier League defeat by Chelsea on Monday with an ankle injury and his club have confirmed he is unavailable for England’s Euro 2024 qualifiers at home to Malta next Friday and away to North Macedonia the following Monday.
