Ruud van Nistelrooy will take charge of Manchester United as interim manager for the last time when they play Leicester in the Premier League on Sunday. The Dutchman, who has led Manchester United out four times since Erik ten Hag’s sacking, said: ‘It was a special period, it is still … I think we’ve done very well so far.’
Rúben Amorim will subsequently take over as permanent United manager but Van Nistelrooy is keen to stay at the club and work under the new head coach. He added: ‘I made a deliberate decision to step into this role for two seasons and take it from there. Four games haven’t changed that sentiment.’
