The online mocking and taunting of a young victim of sexual assault has been rebuked by a Victorian judge as amounting to “a form of emotional rape”.
A court has found the woman, who was 19 at the time, was raped and sexually assaulted by a rideshare driver who picked her up outside a Collingwood nightclub, where she was celebrating a friend’s birthday. The county court heard the driver was claiming to be offering her a free Uber ride.
